2024 Received Doctor of Science (DSc) from the University of Plymouth. Jointly received the global Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering with Henrik Stiesdal for work on developing high performance wind turbines.
March 2024 Became Chair of the Severn Estuary Commission, tasked with investigating the feasibility of generating electricity from the Severn Estuary in the UK.
