2015 The Assembly of Martinique was established, replacing both the Regional and General Councils of Martinique, creating a new single territorial collectivity governance structure for the French overseas territory.
December 13 2015 First elections for the Assembly of Martinique were held, with Gran SanblĂ© pou ba peyi an chans, a coalition led by Alfred Marie-Jeanne, defeating the left-wing coalition led by Serge Letchimy. The winning coalition secured 33 out of 51 seats in the assembly.
