January 2022 StudioCanal's global distribution deal with Universal Pictures Home Entertainment expired.
November 29 2017 StudioCanal and Carolco reached an agreement giving StudioCanal sole control of the Carolco name and logo. Carolco Pictures was renamed Recall Studios, settling a previous legal dispute over the Carolco mark.
April 7 2016 Bafer and Kassar left the company. Kassar departed with a planned project, a remake of the 1999 Japanese horror film Audition. Investor Tarek Kirschen was inducted as Carolco's CEO.
January 20 2015 Alexander Bafer purchased the Carolco name and logo, renaming his production company Carolco Pictures from Brick Top Productions. Mario Kassar was recruited as the chief development executive.
