2012 The Department of the Interior determined that the Brothertown Indians' tribal status was terminated by Congress in 1838, and only Congress could restore it.
2010 The Iroquois Nationals lacrosse team was allowed by the U.S. to travel on their own passports to the World Lacrosse Championship in England, after personal intervention by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. However, the British government refused to recognize the passports and denied team entry.
2010 Demographic milestone: Over 45,000 enrolled Six Nations people living in Canada and more than 81,000 in the United States, demonstrating the continued presence and resilience of the Iroquois Confederacy.
