2025 Melbourne Aces joins the league as a participating team.
2024 League further expanded with new teams: Goyang Heroes, Independent All-Stars, Jiangsu Huge Horses, Cuba national baseball team, Team LMB, and Melbourne Aces.
2023 League expanded to include additional teams: Sangmu Phoenix and KIA Tigers.
October 2022 First KBO Futures League competition takes place, competing solely in the month of October, with initial participating teams including KT Wiz, Hanwha Eagles, Samsung Lions, Lotte Giants, NC Dinos, LG Twins, and Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks.
2019 The Police baseball team was disbanded after the Futures League season. The Sangmu Phoenix were champions of the Southern League for the sixth time.
2015 The Futures League was reorganized into three divisions: Red League, Blue League, and Yellow League. The Suwon KT Wiz were elevated to the KBO League. The Blue League champion was the Police Baseball Team, the Red League champion was the Goyang Dinos, and the Yellow League champion was the Sangmu Phoenix.
2013 The Goyang Dinos were elevated to the KBO League as the NC Dinos. The Sangmu Phoenix became champions of the Southern League.
2012 Two teams from Goyang joined the Futures League: the Goyang Dinos and the Goyang Wonders. The league was divided into Northern League, Southern League, and a 'Freedom Division'.
