March 2025 KSAT cancelled its long-running sports highlight and discussion program Instant Replay, which had been airing on Sundays at 11 p.m.
May 6 2024 KSAT-TV converted from ATSC 1.0 to ATSC 3.0 (NextGen TV) broadcasting, becoming a lighthouse host for ATSC 3.0 transmission of multiple local stations including KENS, KLRN, KSAT-TV, KWEX-DT, and KVDA. The station's original ATSC 1.0 subchannels were relocated to other broadcasters for continued simulcasting.
February 2017 KSAT announced the launch of a new hour of programming in the 9 a.m. block, Good Morning San Antonio at 9.
March 2012 KSAT expanded its weekday morning newscast Good Morning San Antonio and added Saturday and Sunday editions.
September 12 2011 KSAT became the first station in San Antonio to expand its 10 p.m. newscast to one hour, becoming one of the few network-affiliated stations with an hour-long late evening newscast.
May 26 2011 KSAT debuted a new half-hour late afternoon newscast called First News At Four, replacing The Oprah Winfrey Show.
